INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Women's Volleyball team dropped their match on Friday evening in three sets, falling to the Yellow Jackets from West Virginia State 25-21, 25-19, 25-14.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Rachel Phalen and Jessica Sunnenberg the Golden Eagles offensively, recording a total of 14 kills together, eight from Rachel and six from Jessica. On the other side of the net, Jenna Dufresne led the charge, netting 14 kills respectively.
The first set saw a tight matchup, but a late surge was able to push the Yellow Jackets ahead of the Golden Eagles. After the first set Charleston ended with a .241 hitting percentage as a team compared to States"' .235.
In the second set, the Golden Eagles continued to battle hard but couldn't hold off the Yellow Jackets. Charleston had a hitting percentage of .242, with State improving theirs to a .290. Charleston went on to drop the set 25-19.
The third and final set saw the Golden Eagles lead the Yellow Jackets in kills 10-9, but had nine attacking errors to one. State was able to convert off these errors and took the third set 25-14.
