ATHENS, W. Va. –A second half surge from Charleston lifted the No. 20 Golden Eagles (12-2) over the Concord University Mountain Lions (7-6) on Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior guard Keith Williams led the Golden Eagles with 23 points, 7 rebounds and a season high 6 assists in the win.
Isaiah Gable contributed 20 points going 3-for-6 from 3-point range, while tacking on seven rebounds in the contest.
Charleston came out to an early10-point lead in the first half, but in the final five minutes the Mountain Lions went on a 15-8 run to stay close to the visiting Golden Eagles. Heading into the break Charleston led 44-37. Charleston shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, but the hosts we're on the heels of the Golden Eagles going 14-for-30 shooting.
Charleston found the Mountain Lions within five points after a pair of Concord free throws brought the score to 55-50 three minutes into the second half. The Golden Eagles answered by going on an 8-0 run to extend their lead back to double digits. Shaun Monroe sank a three with just under four minutes to play to give the Golden Eagles their largest lead of the contest with a score of 78-53. Charleston never gave up the double-digit advantage to come away with the 86-65 victory.
