BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The University of Charleston's
Christos Charalambous is the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Davis & Elkins' Gianluca Fiorini is the league's Defensive Player of the Week.
Charalambous, a junior from Nicosia, Cyprus, tallied five points as Charleston picked up a win the season-opener against Frostburg State. He scored a pair of goals, both from the spot, and also added an assist as the Golden Eagles won 8-0 over the Bobcats.
Gianluca, a freshman defender from Scandiano, Italy, helped the Senators post a shutout in a 1-0 double-overtime win over Concord. He played all 104 minutes in the match and helped on Concord to just three shots on the day in leading to a clean sheet for the Senators.
