Box Score CHARLESTON, W. Va. - The University of Charleston Men's Volleyball team picked up their third win Friday night to the Pioneers from Sacred Heart in three sets, winning 3-0. Charleston was led by Jake Vorburger with ten kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Eagles got off to a strong start, playing very even back-and-forth volleyball with the Pioneers through the first half of the opening set, with Charleston taking an advantage late due to a couple of service errors from Sacred Heart. The set ended in the Golden Eagles favor, with a score of 25-19.
In the first set, the Golden Eagles had a hitting percentage of .133% while the Pioneers hit .179%. Sacred Heart led the advantage in errors, as they had only three to Charleston's eight.
The second set saw the Golden Eagles take an early lead, converting on the ten attacking errors the Golden Eagles had. Sacred Heart was able to pull closer late in the set making it 23-23, but Charleston continued to push the lead as they went on a 3-0 run to end the set. The Golden Eagles were able to close out the set 28-26, thanks to a block and two late service errors from Sacred Heart.
Set three went back-and-forth, with neither team being able to take an early lead and hold it. After two back-to-back points from Diego Villafane, Charleston was able to push the lead to 21-17. The Pioneers were simply outplayed in the third set, with the Golden Eagles having 13 total kills and were able to convert on four service errors, along with six attacking errors. Charleston was able to push the late lead and take the set 25-18.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Nicholas Palluzzi led the way for the Pioneers with eight kills along with eight points, while Tyler Kwinta had 17 assists and one ace. Vorburger led the way for the Golden Eagles as he was able to record ten kills. Villafane had 28 assists in the game along with a hitting percentage of .231%.
