CHARLESTON, W. Va. - The University of Charleston Women's Volleyball team picked up their fifth win Tuesday night against the Pioneers from Glenville State in three sets, winning 3-0. Charleston was led by Jessica Sunnenberg, and Beyonce Andrews with 11 kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Golden Eagles got off to a strong start, taking the advantage over the Pioneers early and never looking back. Charleston jumped out to a 21-15 lead and was able to convert on four straight set errors from Glenville State to take the opening set 25-16.
In the first set, the Golden Eagles had a hitting percentage of .167% while the Pioneers hit -0.029%. Glenville State led the advantage in errors, as they had only five to Charleston's six.
The second set saw the Golden Eagles take an early lead, converting on the seven attacking errors the Pioneers had. The Pioneers were able to pull closer late, but Charleston continued to push the lead as they went on to take the last two points to end the set. The Golden Eagles were able to close out the set 25-23, thanks to a pair of setting errors.
Set three saw the Golden Eagles fall behind quickly 8-4 lead before Glenville State had a pair of setting errors to help stop the bleeding. After four straight kills by Andrews ,Charleston was able to pull ahead 21-17. The Pioneers were not able to make a comeback and the Golden Eagles were able to convert on an attacking error to end the set 25-22.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Skylar Mace led the way for the Pioneers with seven kills along with nine and a half points, while Jenna Cogar had six assists. Andrews and Sunnenberg led the way for the Golden Eagles as he was able to record 11 kills. Makenzy Johnson had 20 assists in the game along with 15 digs.

Charleston will return to action this coming Friday as they take on the Yellow Jackets from West Virginia State University. The match is set to start at 7:00 P.M. at Wehrle Innovation Center.
