CHARLESTON, W. Va. -- The University of Charleston Golden Eagles Men's Volleyball team dropped their weekend finale, falling to the Red Flash from Saint Francis 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Much like last night, neither team could gain an advantage early on in the opening set, as the Golden Eagles and Red Flash were tied at 9-9 early on. As the set continued, the Red Flash gained their largest lead of the set, two points, leading 16-13. With both teams hitting around the .315% mark at the midway point in the opener, the teams also were even in the kill column with eight a piece. For the Red Flash, Josh Blair and Thomas Leahey each had three, while Jake Vorburger also tallier a trio for the Golden Eagles at the first timeout in the opening set.
As the opening set came to a close, the Red Flash continued to extend their lead to five. The comeback effort in the opener fell just short, as Charleston was able to pull as close as just two points while Saint Francis took the first set 25-21. In the set, Charleston hit just .080% compared to .290% for the Red Flash. Saint Francis rattled off the last six kills of the set, finishing with 14.
In the second, the Red Flash kept their momentum moving, leading 11-7 early on. The set continued to be well-fought by both teams, as the Red Flash maintained their lead while Charleston was unable to get any closer than two points down for the remainder of the set. Saint Francis would take the second set 25-21 and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match. In the set, the Red Flash outkilled the Golden Eagles 15-10 despite having six attacking errors compared to three for Charleston. The teams hit very similarly in the set, with Saint Francis and the Golden Eagles hitting just around the .250% mark.
In the third, it was the Golden Eagles who needed to show a sense of urgency. After neither team could gain the upper hand with the score all knotted at 9-9, the Red Flash went on to score four unanswered points to gain a 13-9 advantage. The Red Flash continued to roll, winning the third and final set 25-17
