WHEELING, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Men's Soccer put on an offensive clinic on Friday evening, defeating the Cardinals from Wheeling University 11-1. After falling behind early, the Golden Eagles went on to score 11 straight unanswered goals to take the match 11-1. Charleston improves to 3-0 on the season and is now outscoring their opponents 21-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the 13
th minute of the game, the Cardinals were able to find their way to the scoreboard after Simen Moksnes was granted a penalty kick following a foul by
Emil Rasmussen. The goal put the Cardinals ahead early but that would be it on the offensive side of the ball for Wheeling.
Playing from behind, something the Golden Eagles aren't used to, didn't seem to bother the visitors as in the 26
th minute, Rasmussen got his revenge and tied the game up at 1-1 in the 26
th minute.
Less than five minutes later,
Christos Charalambous scored his third goal of the season which proved to be the game-winner with the Golden Eagles leading 2-1.
In the 39
th minute,
Adam Burchell scored his first goal of the game on a ball from
Eduardo Iranzo, pushing the lead ahead to 3-1. Less than five minutes later the Golden Eagles were at it again, as
Gabriel Rodriguez scored a penalty kick goal with two minutes remaining in the opening half to give Charleston a 4-1 advantage headed into the locker room.
Out of the break, Rodriguez scored his second of the game (49
rd minute) which was followed by Charalambous's second (53
rd minute) just moments later.
As the half continued, the offense kept coming, with Burchell scoring his second goal of the game in the 63
rd minute.
James Raptis also found the back of the net.
Two of the final three goals scored by Charleston came off the foot of
Eduardo Barros as the Golden Eagles went on to win 11-1.
For the game, Charleston went on to take 31 shots compared to just two for the Cardinals. UC Keeper
Marc Torrado once again had a quiet night in the net, allowing just one goal while making a save.
