Box Score CHARLESTON, W. Va. – In their last regular season EIVA match of 2021, the University of Charleston Golden Eagles Men's Volleyball team fell on Saturday evening to the Nittany Lions from Penn State, losing 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Penn State took three straight sets from the Golden Eagles on Saturday night, scores of 25-12, 25-16, and 25-15.
Penn State came out firing in the first set, hitting .571 for set while Charleston struggled to get their offense going, hitting -.158.
Charleston was able to get back into the positive hitting percentage in set two, hitting .143, but with Penn State's offense hitting .353 it wasn't enough to overcome the Nittany Lions.
The Golden Eagles kept it closer in the 3rd set, trailing by as little as one point up until a score of 8-9. Penn State then pushed to finish the 3rd set out with 8 more kills, hitting .478 for the set.
Marten Bartels led the way for the Golden Eagles with 10 points in the contest. The senior had nine kills and three digs to lead the Charleston effort, hitting a team high .304 for the match.
