PHILIPPI, W. Va. – The University of Charleston Lacrosse team (3-6, 2-4 MEC) fell just short of victory on Sunday afternoon to the Battlers of Alderson Broaddus, losing 12-11 in overtime. After trailing 11-5 with just 15 minutes remaining, the Golden Eagles tallied off six consecutive goals including the game-tying goal in the final minute in order to force overtime. In the overtime period, Leslie Diaz scored just ninety seconds in for the Battlers, who took home the victory in golden goal format.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Battlers scored the opening goal of the game at the 21:42 mark before Tess Yuhas got the Golden Eagles on the board just 40-seconds later as Charleston tied the game at 1-1.
The Golden Eagles were able to score three of the next four goals to take a 4-2 lead before the Battlers tallied off five straight to regain the lead at 7-4.
Gianni Blundell got the scoring started in the 2
nd half for the Golden Eagles, but four straight from Alderson Broaddus increased the Battler lead to 11-5.
Over the final 15 minutes of regulation, Charleston scored six straight goals including four from Elishia Davis as the Golden Eagles forced the game into overtime.
In the overtime period, Leslie Diaz scored just ninety seconds in for the Battlers, who took home the victory in golden goal format.
