HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1:
UC's Dani Bauer tossed the complete game shutout for the Golden Eagles in Sunday's opener, allowing just four hits over seven innings while striking out eight Bobcats on the afternoon.   With the win, Bauer improves her overall record to 7-3 on the 2021 season.

The Golden Eagles jumped on the Bobcats early, plating a run in the home half of the first inning after Gracie Donato singled to center brining around Karli Pinkerton from second base to take the early 1-0 lead. Charleston added a pair of runs in the third inning on RBI singles from Megan Eder and Emma Groe to increase their lead to 3-0 after three innings of action.

Emma Groe provided the late fireworks for UC in the 6th inning, belting her first HR of the 2021 campaign to give the Golden Eagles a commanding 4-0 lead going into the final frame. Bauer closed the door on any Bobcat comeback, striking out a pair to seal the victory in game 1.

Game 2:
Morgan Hoppe went all seven innings for her 7th win of the 2021 season for UC, scattering seven hits and allowing just one Wesleyan run while fanning three Bobcats.

Wesleyan took an early lead over UC on Lauryn King's RBI single that brought in Brooke Clarke to give the Bobcats a 1-0 advantage in the top half of the first inning.  Charleston was blanked the first three innings but erupted for five runs in the fourth inning getting RBI's from Groe, Kendall Marshall (2), Pinkerton and Eder to put the Golden Eagles ahead 5-1 after four.

Gracie Donato added an insurance run in the 6th on a sacrifice fly that scored UC's AJ Martin.  The Golden Eagles pounded out 11 hits in the win with Karli Pinkerton going 4-for-4 to pace the Charleston offensive attack at the plate.
