CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The University of Charleston baseball team increased their win streak to six games, downing the Cardinals from Wheeling University in both games of their morning-afternoon doubleheader. With the wins, Charleston moves to 15-3 overall while carrying a 9-1 record in conference play.

How it Happened
- After Charleston starting pitcher Logan Campbell worked through the Wheeling lineup in the first, the Golden Eagles would score what would go down as the game-winning run after Tyler Dellerman brought home Bryce Toussaint in the first inning.
- Toussaint made his way aboard after opening the bottom half of the first inning with a leadoff double and advanced to third on a single from Drew Hefner.
- In the 4th inning, JR Heavilin to left field and advanced to second on a passed ball with one away. After Braxton Boddorf flew out, Pete Costigan would come up big, driving home an insurance run with two away.
- Logan Campbell would continue to shut down the Cardinals lineup, allowing just one hit over the final 4.1 innings pitched to lead Charleston to a 2-0 win.
- Campbell finished the game logging 7.0 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 11 SO, 1 BB

How it Happened
- The Golden Eagles wasted no time getting to Wheeling starting pitcher Cameron Madden in the first inning as the Charleston tabbed the pitcher for three runs to gain an early 3-0 advantage.
- After Bryce Toussaint opened the game with a leadoff single, he then proceeded to steal a pair of bases to put himself on third with no outs. After Drew Hefner worked a walk to put runners on the corners, Tyler Dellerman brought home Toussaint on a sacrifice fly.
- After Hefner stole second, Braxton Boddorf was able to bring him home on a double which was followed up by an RBI single from Pete Costigan to conclude the scoring in the first.
- After working a perfect opening frame, the Cardinals were able to get to Charleston starter Colt Webb, tallying two runs to trim their deficit to just one run.
- Wheeling would go on to tie the game in the third after Luis Dominguez singled home Jack Skantze. Webb would go on to finish the inning before turning the ball over to Seth Nightingale.
- In the bottom of the 5th, Charleston would go on to plate eight runs on five hits to take a commanding 11-3 lead.
- Charleston would take the lead after Andrew Berry pinch hit for JR Heavilin and drove in the game-winning run for the Golden Eagles. From there, Boddorf put the game out of reach with a two-RBI triple which was followed up by an RBI single from Cositgan.
- Hayden Cartt would double home a pair of runs which was followed up by an RBI single from Toussaint. The last run of the inning would score on a throwing error from Wheeling catcher Riley Cameron which would allow Toussaint to score.
- Filip Smola would give Charleston their 12th run of the game in the 6th after scoring Boddorf on a sacrifice fly.
- Nightingale's day concluded after 2.1 innings of hitless work where he struck out five batters.
- Jacob Kaiser would come on in relief of Nightingale, logging 0.2 IP while allowing one hit and striking out one.
- Owen MacNeil would finish the job for the Golden Eagles in the seventh, walking one and striking out a batter on their way to the victory.

Charleston will host the Bobcats from West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday and Sunday of next weekend when they will play four games over a two-day span. Both days are slated for a 1:00 PM first pitch.
