How it Happened
  • After going down in order in the first, Charleston worked themselves out of trouble as Campbell struck out Swiger on three pitches with the bases loaded.
  • Campbell loaded the bases once again in the second and got Ofier to flyout for the final out of the inning to avoid damage once again.
  • From there, Campbell would go on to dominate over the next five innings, while the Golden Eagles went on to plate their first run in the top of the fourth against Husky starting pitcher Michael Standen.
  • After the first two batters of the inning were retired, Tyler Dellerman worked a walk which was followed by Drew Hefner (HBP) to put a pair of runner on. Pete Costigan then recorded his second hit of the ball game, bringing Dellerman home to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead.
  • In the seventh with the score still 1-0 in favor of Charleston, the Golden Eagles added another on Costigan's third hit, which scored Hayden Cartt who doubled earlier in the inning.
  • After working a clean bottom half of the seventh, Campbell was tabbed for his first two runs of the game on one swing, as Swiger homered with two outs in the inning. After pitching to the next batter, Campbell was relieved by Fultineer. Campbell's finished the game throwing 7.2 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits while walking two, hitting two, and striking out ten. Campbell finished the day amassing nearly 150 pitches.
  • After both squads went down in order in the ninth, the game was sent to extra innings. After Jesse Elliott singled in the 10th, Charleston would go down before Ofier led off the bottom half of the inning with a solo, walk off home run which cleared the left centerfield wall.
