BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The University of Charleston's Brooklyn Pannell has been named the Mountain East Conference Female Athlete of the Year for 2020-21.
Pannell, the MEC Player of the Year, led the league in scoring during the regular season and ended up averaging 23.3 points per game for the Golden Eagles. She also ranked among the league leaders in field goal percentage (10th), free throw percentage (seventh), steals (fourth), three-point field goal percentage (third), three-pointers made per game (sixth) and minutes (first). She helped UC to the MEC South Division title, the school's first MEC Tournament title and the first appearance by an MEC squad in the NCAA Tournament "Elite Eight."
She earned All-America honors from the WBCA at the conclusion of the season.
The MEC Female Athlete of the Year is selected by a vote of institutional administrators and the conference office.
