How it Happened:
The Charleston fans saw plenty of action in Wednesday night's match as the Golden Eagles outscored the Battlers of Alderson Broaddus 9-1.

The scoring started in the thirteenth minute as Duvan Canchila found striker Paul Caliari up the pitch as he approached the eighteen-yard box. Caliari maneuvered past the defense and found the back of the net for Charleston's first goal of the night.

The next goal would once again be Caliari and Canchila, but this time Caliari would find Duvan Canchila near the box as he scored his first goal of the 2022 season. The Golden Eagles now ahead 2-0 were controlling the match.

About ten minutes later in the thirty-fifth minute, Mattheo Ledoux scorched a ball that just missed and hit the top post, but Ledoux followed the ricochet and determined to score. The goal gave the Golden Eagles the 3-0 lead where the score remained entering halftime.

Charleston did not let off the breaks entering the second half and in the fifty-fourth minute, the Golden Eagles scored their fourth goal of the night. A pass from Eduardo Iranzo from about midfield set up Sam Bethell to take on the Battler goalie one on one. Bethell struck the ball well with his right foot hitting the back of the net to give Charleston the 4-0 lead.

About two minutes later, Charleston's fifth goal of the night was scored. Several passes through the box eventually found the left foot of Joao Belmudes as he scored his second goal of the season. Belmudes was assisted by Eduardo Iranzo and Franco Tradatti.

In the sixty-fourth minute of the match, Mattheo Ledoux took a pass from Mattia Vezzoni up the middle of the pitch and went on to score his second goal of the night as well as giving Charleston the 6-0 advantage.

A sixth Golden Eagle decided they wanted in on the scoring frenzy. Luis Maestre struck a ball that gave into the net that gave the Golden Eagles the 7-0 lead over the Battlers. Maestre was assisted by Lewis Redding and Mattheo Ledoux.

About thirty seconds later Alderson Broaddus decided they wanted in on the action as Nicholas Ihnat scored the Battlers lone goal of the night, making the score now 7-1.

Several minutes later, a Battler player made a costly foul in the box, giving Charleston the opportunity to make the score 8-1. Joao Belmudes did just that as he scored his second goal of the night on the awarded penalty.

The last goal of the night came from Ethan Zarka in the seventy-eighth minute of the match. Zarka's first goal of the season was assisted by Connor Hartwell.

The Golden Eagles scored a season high nine goals in the match from seven different goal scorers.
