How it Happened:
On an overcast Sunday afternoon in Buckhannon, West Virginia the Golden Eagles were in search of their tenth straight win. In the last meeting between the Bobcats and the Golden Eagles, Charleston took the 5-1 victory.

The Golden Eagles quickly took control of the match as they dominated possession from the start of the game. In the thirteenth minute Sam Bethell sent a ball down the field to Eduardo Barros who managed to pull the keeper out of the goal. From there, Barros had a golden opportunity to flick the ball over the keeper and easily roll into the goal giving Charleston the 1-0 advantage.

Just two short minutes later the Bobcats were able to tie it up on a Golden Eagle miscue.

Charleston would not allow the score to stand and took a 2-1 lead in the thirty-third minute. Defender Javier Sanchez scored his second goal of the season with the help of Mattia Vezzoni who assisted the goal. The half was scoreless for the next ten minutes with both teams heading to locker room, Charleston leading 2-1.

The Bobcats came out of the locker room ready to pounce and they did just that. Four minutes into the half West Virginia Wesleyan capitalized on another Golden Eagle miscue and once again tied the match, the score now 2-2.

Less than ninety seconds later, Eduardo Barros scored his second goal of the afternoon to give the Golden Eagles the lead again.

About four minutes later Charleston scored their fourth goal of the afternoon, this time it was Lewis Redding assisted by Giorgos Diakos.

The Golden Eagles lead would stick as they took the 4-2 victory and improved to 12-1 in Mountain East Conference play.
