On the men's performance, Head Coach Nick Bias said,

"I was pleased with our performances as we raced with the "Big Dogs" of the many top-level Division I teams. This is the type of race environment we need to prepare ourselves for Nationals in December - fast start with lots of talented runners surrounding us that includes an uncomfortable environment. This will help us be ready for Seattle with the top Division II teams.  We were able to beat #10 Walsh, which was a huge confidence booster along with topping many Division 1 teams. We'll go back to work the next few weeks in preparation for the Division II Showcase in three weeks in Huntsville, AL. We'll continue to get more fit and work on race tactics, but I'm pleased with how well we ran today."

On the women's side, UC is ranked 2nd in the Atlantic Region and are currently receiving votes in the NCAA Division II Poll.

Charleston's women team finished 5th overall out of 47 teams in the Brown Race.
UC's Flora Tissier was the fifth overall finisher with a time of 21:05. Charleston's Elise Leveel trailed right behind Tissier, finishing 8th overall at 21:10.

Other notable UC runners include:
Mercy Jepleting - 22:10 - 50th overall
Lily Dowdell - 22:45 - 104th overall
Madison Woolwine - 22:47 - 107th overall
Lia Market - 23:28 - 190th overall
Arri Felix - 24:36 - 275th overall
Indy Spetnagel - 24:51 - 324th overall
Morgan Turner - 25:18
Nadia Calore - 26:20

On the women's performance, Head Coach Nick Bias said,

"This was a solid race for my women's team, as we felt like we could be top 5 in the 47-team field Brown Race.  Our returners really got a great start in the huge field and established position early. They were able to work through the field and have strong finishes. This was also a great race atmosphere and competition field in preparation for nationals in Seattle in December.  I'm very proud of the women and I know we will only get more fit as the season goes on. This was the first race we opened our full squad, so it was great to see them competing. We'll work hard and continue to improve but it is exciting how the season is shaping up."
