How it Happened:
On a sunny Sunday afternoon in South Euclid, fans were sure to see a battle between the second ranked team in the Mountain East, the Falcons of Notre Dame, and the first ranked team, Charleston.

Only three minutes into the match the Golden Eagles took the early 1-0 lead over the Falcons. The goal came off the right foot of
Felipe Mercado as he found the lower left corner of the net to give Charleston the early advantage over Notre Dame.

Both sides battled back and forth for possession, several yellow cards were awarded, numerous shots were taken, but the remained of the half was scoreless. Both teams would head to the locker rooms with Charleston leading the Falcons 1-0.

In the fifty-third minute, Charleston's
Lewis Redding and
Felipe Mercado were able to work the ball toÂ
Giorgos Diakos who burried his shot in the net to extend the Charleston lead to 2-0.Â

The remainder of the match would be scoreless, as Charleston picked up their eleventh win of the season. The victory earns the Golden Eagles a spot at the top of the league in the Mountain East Conference.
