Charleston, W.Va.. Charleston advances to sweet sixteen with 4-0 win over Adelphi.

How it Happened:
On a stormy Saturday afternoon and a chance to advance to the sweet sixteen, the Golden Eagles were eager to take the pitch and face off with the Panthers of Adelphi University.
Charleston wasted no time as just four minutes into the match
Lewis Redding found
Eduardo Iranzo near the goal and the Golden Eagles quickly had a 1-0 lead over the Panthers.
Charleston was dominate on the ball, keeping it in their attacking third for majority of the half, riffling off twelve shots in comparison to Adelphi's zero. It was in the thirty-third minute that Charleston found the back of the net again.
Tristen Rose sent a ball that found the right foot of
Joao Belmudes who gave the Golden Eagles their second goal of the afternoon.
Charleston entered the locker room at the half with the 2-0 lead and no plans to let off the gas
In the second half, Charleston continued to attack the Panther defense, taking numerous shots, but the Golden Eagles were unsuccessful with their opportunities. In the eightieth minute Charleston once again found themselves near the goal and
Felipe Mercado struck a ball that just missed the goal as it bounced off the top post. Luckily for Charleston the ricochet found the
Luis Maestre as he easily headed the ball into the goal, giving Charleston the 3-0 advantage.
At this point in the contest Charleston just needed to run the last ten minutes off the clock and they would be on their way to a Sweet Sixteen appearance. Charleston continued to attack the Panther defense as substitution
Joseph Gasper was fouled in the box, forcing a Golden Eagle Penalty. Graduate student
Sam Bethell stepped up to the mark and sent the ball into past the Panther keeper sealing the deal for Charleston.
Charleston had four different goal scorers in the match on twenty-six shots. The Golden Eagle defense only allowed one shot by the Panthers, keeping a clean sheet.
