Jefferson City, TN – Golden Eagles fall in weekend series at Carson-Newman University.

Game 1
The Golden Eagles got things going in the 1^st inning with a double down the right field line from Jordan Bailey that would then be met with a single from Tyler Dellerman to bring Bailey home. The Bailey and Dellerman duo again tacked two more on in the 3^rd inning. With the help of some timely hitting from Casey Finck, Dellerman scored and gave Charleston a 3-0 advantage. Carson-Newman responded with a run in the bottom frame and tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Dellerman continued his hitting streak and launched a home run in the top of the fifth inning to give UC a one run lead. However, it was not enough for the Golden Eagles as Carson-Newman went on to win the game 9-4.

Game 2:
In the second game of the series, the Golden Eagles struck first in the 3rd inning when Giano Zuccaro scored on a throwing error. With bases loaded, Dellerman doubled in the right centerfield gap to plate Bailey, Knott, and Boddorf. In the bottom frame, Carson-Newman answered back when Micah Genter hit a solo home run. The Golden Eagles led Carson-Newman 4-1 after three innings. In the bottom of the 4th inning, Carson-Newman added two more runs when Jordan Griffin scored on a wild pitch and an RBI groundout from Ryan Potts. Carson-Newman added another run in the 6^th inning with a UC outfield error that plated Andrew Carpenter, leaving the score at 4-4. In the 8^th inning, UC stormed back when Pete Costigan had a 2-run bomb to put the Golden Eagles ahead 6-4. In the bottom of the frame, Carson-Newman plated Kilian Daughtry and inched one run closer to the UC lead. Jackson Mandella shut it down and the Golden Eagles would win the game 6-5, leaving the series tied at 1-1.

Game 3: 
Carson-Newman stole a series victory as Charleston bats were shut down in game three of the series. Carson Newman's Matt Bradley finished with six innings, giving up two hits and three walks. In the top of the 7^thinning, J.D. Armstrong doubled to left center and Eric Chartier scored. With complete domination, CN took the game with a final score of 12-1. Drew Beckner finished the game throwing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts and three walks.
