CHARLESTON, W.Va- The Golden Eagle Football squad announced their 2022 schedule last week.
After finishing last season with an 8-2 overall record and just one win away from earning a spot in the NCAA Atlantic Regional, the Golden Eagles are poised to repeat their success from last year.
With first year head coach Quinn Sanders at the helm, Charleston Football has a bright future with much to look forward to. Sanders was a former assistant and has been with the University for over 10 years between his playing and coaching days.
The squad enters 2022 with a desperate need for someone to step up to fill the big hole left by the MEC's leading rusher, Tyreik McAllister. McAllister was named MEC's Offensive Player of the Year for 2021 and received 1
st Team All-Atlantic Region honors as well.
Quarterback Guy Myers, who was second on the team in rushing yards behind McAllister, also graduated and someone will need to step up to fill those shoes.
Currently all games are slotted for the Saturday time slot with the first home game tabbed for September 17. All game times are TBD and will be announced at a later date.
