CHARLESTON, W. Va- The Golden Eagle women's golf squad captured the Mountain East Spring Kickoff on March 29 finishing with a combined score of 671.

The two-day tournament featured a slew of MEC competition and was hosted at Edgedwood Country Club in Charleston. Charleston was able to squeeze out a win over Glenville State by four strokes. Day one saw the Golden Eagles combine for a score of 338 just two strokes ahead of second place Glenville. On Monday, Charleston extended their lead shooting a 333 to Glenville's 335.

Beatrice Dietz finished first overall in the tournament after posting back-to-back scores of 80. Dietz also earned All-MEC First Team recognition finishing second in aggregate scoring in 2021 and 2022 MEC events. She had an opportunity to claim the Women's Golf Player of the Year as well, but back-to-back double bogeys on the final two holes netted her second place in MEC All-Conference voting.

Victoria Witouski was named All-Mountain East Conference second team as a freshman. She combined for a score of 168 after posting a 86 in round one and an 82 in round two. She finished the round tied for sixth place in the tournament.

McKenzie Dietz, who tied her teammate Witouski at 168 was also named to All-MEC second team. Dietz was able to limit damage in round one scoring no higher than double bogey in the outing.

Aleigha Hodges was named as Mountain East Conference Honorable Mention and posted an 89 and an 86 in rounds one and two respectively.
