How it Happened
Charleston was missing two valuable players in the starting lineup for Sunday's match with Katy O'Reilly and Audrey Miller watching from the sideline, but the Golden Eagles would utilize their depth with Kaitlyn Gauze and Alison Rothmann as they stepped up for the squad.

The first half entailed a stalemate between the two teams as neither squad was able to deliver in the offensive third. Cassidy Collins and Sydney Cavender took multiple shots to put Wesleyan goalkeeper Ally Moore to work, but Moore was a brick wall for the opening 45 minutes of the match. Moore and Charleston keeper Jordan Maynard were to thank for the inactivity on the scoreboard as the two teams headed for the locker room at the horn deadlocked at 0-0.

After the break, Sydney Wheeler and Rachel Osborne had enough of the dry spell and wanted to strike. After an excellent play on the ball, Wheeler bodied her way to the far-side corner and found an opportunity to look for Osborne, who was waiting patiently in front of the net. As easy as "1-2-3," Wheeler played the ball with no hesitation and Osborne tapped the volley in for the go-ahead goal.

Moments later, Kaitlyn Gauze sailed an absolute dime into the 6-yard box that found Sydney Cavender's head, and the Golden Eagles found themselves up by 2-0.

For the remainder of the match, Charleston played very controlled, which would allow for them to uphold their 2-0 lead and add another conference win to their record.
