How it Happened
Glenville State was looking to capture their first win of the year against a fast-rolling Golden Eagles squad and knock them off their two-game winning streak. After scoring a combined six goals in their last two wins, Charleston was ready to strike on offense, but Glenville State's goalkeeper Mikayla Brown was prepared for their efforts.

Charleston was caught offsides three times in the opening 10 minutes and managed to get a shot off from Cassidy Collins that was touched away by Brown.

After a dry 1st half, the two sides would go into the locker room with the score 0-0. Charleston had seven shots compared to Glenville State's two. Four of Charleston's shots were saved by Mikayla Brown, which was a clear indicator that they weren't going to get any easy goals on the night.

The one and only goal in the matchup would come from veteran Sydney Cavender off an unbelievable ball played in by Madison Hansen on a free kick from 35 yards away. It was gently placed within the box and Cavender took care of the rest, scoring her third goal of the season.

Jordan Maynard finished with her second clean sheet on the year and Charleston would take the 1-0 victory to move to 3-0 in MEC play.
