How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles traveled to Philippi, West Virginia on Wednesday night to take on Mountain East Conference opponent Alderson Broaddus. Charleston, who entered the match 3-1 in MEC play, were looking for another three points.

Charleston dominated possession in the match, not giving the Battlers many chances on the ball. Charleston riffled off several shots, and in the twenty-seventh minute,
Felipe Mercado put the Golden Eagles on the board with their first goal of the night. Mercado's goal was assisted by
Eduardo Iranzo and
Giorgos Diakos. Charleston would continue to dominate possession and went to the locker room with the 1-0 lead.

The Battlers were not pleased with the deficit and in the fifty-third minute Angel Avila scored the equalizer. The game now being tied did not settle well with the Golden Eagles and within five minutes they took the lead back. This goal came from senior
Luis Maestre assisted by
Felipe Mercado.

Ten minutes later the Golden Eagles found themselves celebrating another goal. Francisco Anton found the back of the net giving Charleston the 3-1 lead. The lead was not enough for the Golden Eagles because in the seventy-fourth minute, senior
Eduardo Barros scored the final goal of the night for Charleston.

Charleston would hold Alderson Broaddus to one goal in the game and went on to win the match 4-1. The win improves the Golden Eagles to 4-1 in MEC play.
