How it Happened
Throughout the first half, it was a battle of the goalkeepers. Jordan Maynard and Leah Marsh would not allow any goals in the opening 45 minutes. Maynard would contribute three saves on five shots in the first half compared to Marsh's four saves on seven shots.

The highlight save of the opening half, and quite possibly from the whole game, would come in the 12thminute. It appeared that Concord was going to take the lead on a close-range shot from Leah Foster. Maynard was forced to use her legs on the save due to the pace and location of the shot, but she was able to block the one-timer with her right leg and prevent the early goal.

In the second half, Laura Vierhout stepped up immensely for the Golden Eagles. In the 69th minute, Vierhout took a shot from the top of the 18-yard box that hooked towards the back corner of the net, but she was denied by the unforgiving crossbar. Sydney Cavender took offense to this. On the rebound, Cavender read the play before it even happened. She placed the ball on a silver platter into a wide-open gap in front of the goal. After being robbed on her first attempt, Vierhout's second shot was gracefully placed in the lower corner of the net and the Golden Eagles took the 1-0 advantage.

Charleston wouldn't allow another shot for the rest of the match and the Golden Eagles would take the 1-0 win over the Mountain Lions.
