Belle Vernon, Pa. – UC Men's Golf finished 10^th in their first outing of the fall season on Sunday at California University of Pennsylvania.  
 
A rainy Monday morning in Pennsylvania prevented play from continuing at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon. The Golden Eagles did however finish 36 holes on Sunday, carding a 572 combined score for the rounds, good enough to finish tied for 10^th overall in the final standings.
 
Zack Katzenstein opened up his first round, carding a 71, and followed it with a team best 69 on the second 18 holes of the day.  The senior a combined five under on par fours and par fives for the tournament averaging 3.91 and 4.50 on those holes respectively.
 
Rory Gorman, a freshman out of Melbourne, Australia competed as an individual and carded a team best 66 in his first 18 holes. He would follow it up with a solid 68 in his second 18, putting him at -8 for the tournament and tied for fourth among all competitors. He opened his second 18 holes with a flurry of birdies on holes one through four. After a triple on six, he bounced back well, notching birdies on eight and nine to put himself at -3 on the front. He would par out on the back to stay at -8 for the tournament. He will likely break into the lineup next weekend at the UC Invitational hosted at Edgewood Country Club in Sissonville. 
 
UC's number No. 2, Cole Darbyshire, finished the first 18 at two under par (70) and was even par on the second 18. He would finish tied for 29^th in the tournament.
 
Up Next
The Golden Eagles will return home to Edgewood Country Club on Sunday to play in the Golden Eagle Invitational. This will be the first time that the men have played at Edgewood in tournament play since the spring of 2021.
