Elkins, W. Va – The Golden Eagles would face the Davis & Elkins Senators under the lights on Wednesday for an MEC Women's Soccer matchup. Charleston came to Harpertown Field on a six-game win streak, while the Senators were fresh off a 2-2 draw with Fairmont State.

How it Happened
Carina Widauer would open up the scoring for Charleston in the 15th minute of the match with a goal from the far side wing. She would sprint into the box towards net and send a low stinger into the bottom far post for the 1-0 advantage. Frankie Morrow would follow up Widauer's goal with a rocket of a shot from the top of the box into the top right corner for the second goal, a shot that we have seen quite a bit from the New Zealand native.

Four minutes after the second goal, Charleston's Alison Rothmann would score on a beautiful pass played through the Senators defensive line into the box for Rothmann's one-timer into the net for the 3-0 lead. The Golden Eagles kept the gas pedal to the floor as Sophia Mankowski would score two minutes later off of the assist from Juliette Lucas to take a 4-0 advantage into the second half.

With just under a minute played in the second half, Cassidy Collins would make a run into the box and play a rolling pass just in front of the goal for an easy shot and goal for Rachel Osborne to quickly extend the lead to 5-0.

As she has done all year, Lina Jaime's corner would end up as another goal for Charleston as she would find Angela Gatto who had no problem at all with her header into the net for the 6-0 lead. Charleston's final goal of the match would come in the 86th minute of play, and it was a goal to say the lead. Ginny Sung from the near wing saw the Senator keeper off her line and sent a missile just underneath the crossbar from over 25 yards away to give Charleston their seventh and final goal of the 90 minutes played.
