How it Happened
Though it would take 41 minutes of action to find the match's first goal, it would be Charleston's Ginny Sung scoring the first goal of the day off of the assist from Carina Widauer. The midfielder would play a long pass into the box where Sung got around the defender and tapped the ball in from close-range to take the 1-0 going into the locker room. The Golden Eagles would not allow for a single shot in the first half from the Bobcats, while firing off 12 on the other end with nine of them on target. Alyssa Williams would be in large part responsible for the lack of scoring for Charleston in the half as she deflected nine shots in the half, with each one of them looking like a guaranteed goal for the Golden Eagles.

In the second half, Charleston would begin to pull away. They would find their first goal of the half on an incredible cross from Frankie Morrow that found Cassidy Collins. Collins would find Lina Jaime for the one-timer right in front of the goal for the 2-0 advantage. Just three minutes later, Carina Widauer would send home a rolling rocket into the bottom left corner of the net on a Lina Jaime corner kick to take the 3-0 lead. Charleston's final goal of the match would be Lina Jaime's second of the day after sinking a penalty kick into the right corner of the net to give Charleston a dominant 4-0 victory. Jordan Maynard finishes the day with her 9th shutout victory with a big thanks to the defense for limiting the Bobcats to just one shot all day.
