Charleston Defeats Notre Dame College In Wednesday Evening Matchup at Home

Charleston, W.Va. - Charleston picks up another Mountain East Conference win with 5-0 victory over the Falcons of Notre Dame College.
 
The Basics:

How it Happened:
Charleston set the tone early in the match when a Joao Belmudes sent a cross into the box that found near the back post. Giorgos Diakos sent a header into the top left of the back of the net for the early Charleston advantage in the sixth minute.
 
Just five minutes later a Falcon keeper miscue allowed Giorgos Diakos to intercept the ball in the box and quickly find Stafford Dowling who sent the Golden Eagles second goal of the evening into the lower left of the goal.
 
Only fifteen minutes in and the tensions were high on the pitch between these two Mountain East Conference rivals. Charleston already collecting two yellow cards in the match.
 
In the twenty-fourth minute, a Charleston corner kick was headed out by a Falcon, but Jose Suarez Monaco came in behind and sent it past the Falcon keeper for the third Golden Eagle goal of the half. A Giorgos Diakos cross found the head of Juan Hermoso who flicked it past the Falcon keeper to give Charleston the 4-0 advantage.
 
After keeping the Golden Eagles quiet in the second half, an unfortunate handball in the box awarded Charleston a penalty shot. Eduardo Barros stepped up to the spot and drilled a shot passed the diving keeper into the lower left of the goal.
 
Charleston would go on to defeat Notre Dame College 5-0 in the Wednesday evening matchup.

Charleston will travel to Wheeling for a Saturday afternoon matchup set to start at 4:30PM.
