How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles dropped set one in a close back-and-forth matchup where they lost 25-23, but they came back to win the next three sets 25-15, 25-19 and 28-16 to come out on top.

Set two was lights out for Charleston, as they got on the board first with a kill by Pia Selke and an attack error by the Pioneers. The teams traded sideouts until Selke and Riley Hoff each went on a three-point service run to put UC ahead 14-11. From there, the Golden Eagles picked up another point on a kill by Hoff and jolted to a 21-13 lead on five Suzan Agterberg serves and three straight kills by Sage Bearnson. An attack error by Glenville solidified the 25-15 set two victory for Charleston.

The Golden Eagles came out firing in set three, as they jumped to an early 10-3 lead over the Pioneers on GSU attack errors, service aces by Hoff and Selke and kills by Selke, Bearnson, Reagan McLean and Emma Shepherd. Glenville trailed the rest of the way with Charleston winning 25-19 on a service ace by Shepherd.

Glenville led the fourth set 4-1, but Charleston knotted the score at five on a kill and service ace by Selke, errors by the Pioneers and a kill by Bearnson. The set was back-and-forth until the Golden Eagles overpowered the Pioneers on six serves by Maria Hernandez, four more GSU errors and kills by Hoff and Selke to give them the 21-15 advantage. Glenville came back to tie it up at 23, and the teams traded sideouts, but the Golden Eagles took the final set of the day 28-26 to give them the 3-1 match victory.

Selke, Shepherd and Bearnson worked in combination to lead the Golden Eagles offense, as Selke collected 15 kills, Shepherd collected 14 and Bearnson collected 13. McLean acted as a wall for Charleston with six blocks, while Hoff and Chloe Fortner had 17 digs.
