Charleston Falls to West Virginia Wesleyan College in Doubleheader

Buckhannon, W. Va. — The Golden Eagles fall to the Bobcats 3-2 in game one and 5-4 in game two.

Game One: 3 WVWC, 2 UC
Despite scoring in the first inning off a double by Emma Groe, Charleston was unable to hold the lead.

West Virginia Wesleyan's three runs came off the bats of Taylor Swartz and Andie Dizon, as Swartz had a two-run shot in the third inning and Dizon had a solo shot in the fourth. The Golden Eagles put pressure on in the seventh inning with an RBI single to right field, but the one run is all they were able to get.

Highlights:
Brionna Bowman (3-3, double, 1 run), Emma Groe (1-3, double, RBI), and Brittny Ogg (1-1, RBI)

Game Two: 5 WVWC, 4 UC
Like deja vu, the long ball won the Bobcats the second game of the doubleheader.

West Virginia Wesleyan took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, but the Golden Eagles responded by plating a run of their own in the second inning. Charleston went on to pull ahead 4-3 in the top of the fifth with solo home runs by Hannah Rose and Isabella Andujar. This lead did not last though, as the Bobcats blasted another two-run home run to close out the scoring for the game in the sixth inning.

Highlights:
Rose (2-3, HR, RBI, 1 run), Andujar (1-3, HR, RBI, 1 run), Jertiza Montero (2-3, 1 run) and Raegan West (1-3, RBI)
