Athens, W.Va. - The University of Charleston (16-2; 10-1) softball team remains undefeated in conference play as they sweep Concord University for the second time this season, winning game one (14-5) and game two (7-2).
The Golden Eagles blasted eight home runs in game one, breaking the record for the most home runs hit in a single game by UC. The original record was established by the 1978 Charleston softball team when they hit six home runs against Concord. Junior shortstop Hannah Rose hit three of the eight home runs, while sophomore Isabella Andujar hit two. In total, the Golden Eagles had nine home runs on the day with Andujar blasting another in game two of the doubleheader.
Game 1: 14 UC, 5 CU
Not holding back in game one, Charleston collected 14 runs on 15 hits. Rose, Andujar, Allysa Lake, Jeritza Montero and Morgan Hoppe put on a hitting clinic, as they each had home runs, breaking the record for the most home runs hit in a single game (8). In total, seven Golden Eagles picked up at least one hit against Concord's pitching staff.

Last week, Andujar had three home runs in a single game making her the first Golden Eagle to do so since 1977.
