Charleston, W. Va. - University of Charleston Softball (32-8; 25-5) sweeps the Mountain East Conference (MEC) North Division leader, Fairmont State University, 6-1 in game one and 7-0 in game two.

Senior Danielle Bauer (10-4) dominated in game two with nine strikeouts and only one hit allowed in seven innings pitched. Sophomore Isabella Andujar led UC's offense, as she went 3-for-6 on the day with two home runs, five runs-batted-in (RBI), three runs scored, a hit-by-pitch and a walk.

Game One: 6 UC, 1 FSU
Brianna McCown (20-3) had another successful pitching performance with eight strikeouts and only three hits and one run allowed in seven innings pitched. With these victories, the junior continues to lead the MEC in wins and strikeouts.

Andujar started Charleston's offense off with a bang in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run shot over the center field fence. West and Rose also contributed to UC's scoring, as West pushed two runs across on a single in the third inning and Rose blasted a solo shot to left-center in the fourth.

The Falcons were able to score one run in the top of the fifth inning on a single by Katy Darnell, but that was all they were able to muster up. From there, West went on to score the final run of the ball game in the fifth on a wild pitch by Fairmont relief pitcher Ally Maddy.

Game Two: 7 UC, 0 FSU
Lights out pitching by Bauer and hot bats led the Golden Eagles to their second victory of the day.

Groe played a key role in UC's offense, as she went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and one run scored. Like game one, Andujar was dominant at the plate with another two-run home run and a run scored. With the bases loaded, the sophomore was also hit by a pitch to plate another run for Charleston. Lake finished off UC's scoring in the sixth on a double to left field to drive in Rose and Kaylee Hotchkiss.
