Wilberforce, Ohio. – #14 Charleston continued their hot streak as they swept Central State in their final non-conference match of the season.

How it Happened:
In the opening set of the Tuesday night matchup between the Golden Eagles and the Marauders, Central State jumped out to an early 4-1 lead after a kill and three consecutive service aces. The Golden Eagles overcame the early deficit and rallied back, bringing the match to even at 10-10 and eventually taking the lead 12-10 after a four-point run. The Marauders capitalized on the next point, but the Golden Eagles would maintain the lead for the remainder of the set, taking set one 25-20. Charleston was 13-22 with a .455% hitting percentage in the first set victory.
In set two the teams traded side outs back and forth with neither team gaining a commanding for the first twenty points. When the set was tied at 10-10, Charleston went on a 7-2 run, taking the first commanding lead of the set, 17-12. Central State responded with a 5-2 run, bringing the set back within reach, 19-17 UC. Charleston then increased their lead to four after a kill and a few Marauder errors, but the Central State offense answered right back. The Marauders used several kills and a service ace to go on a four-point run and bring the set back to even 22-22. Charleston went on to gain the next two points off two Golden Eagle kills before an attack error brought the set score to 24-23 UC. Charleston closed out the set with a kill by Graduate student
Lachlan Bray to take the second set 25-23.
The third set was once again back and forth for about the first twenty points, the teams tied at 10-10, but Charleston kicked it into high gear when they went on to outscore Central State 8-2 to take the 18-12 lead. With the Marauders trailing two sets to none, they had a lot of ground to make up. Central State managed a few points off Charleston errors and a pair of kills of their own, but the strong Charleston team closed out the set 25-18, completing the match sweep.
Charleston hit .365% in the match converting 36 of 74 attempts.
Veit Bils had 3 of Charleston's aces in the match while also hitting 1.000%, going 6-6.

Charleston will host Princeton this weekend for their final home series of the season. The EIVA games will be played Friday, April 7
th at 7PM and Saturday, April 8
th at 3PM. Senior Day festivities will take place before the match on Saturday.
