Shippensburg put two quick runs on the board on a pair of singles in the first frame of the ballgame. Charleston then cut the deficit in half in the second inning when Hoppe roped one up the middle to score Montero, who previously reached on a walk.
The Raiders held onto the lead until Rose walked, advanced to third on a single by Andujar and tied the game on a Montero groundout to shortstop. The game remained tied at 2-2 until SU managed to pull ahead 3-2 in the top of the sixth inning on a pair of singles and an error.
Despite only having two hits to their name going into the bottom of the seventh inning, Charleston managed to walk it off and force the if-necessary game. Bowman led off the inning with a single and Hoppe reached on a walk to put two runners in scoring position with no outs. The Raiders managed to get one out on a fielder's choice, but a single by Rose tied it up at 3-3. Lake went on to walk it off with another single to left field to score Brittny Ogg, who previously reached on a fielder's choice.
Starting pitcher Brianna McCown improves her record to 28-4, as she picked up the win in game one with five strikeouts and eight hits allowed in seven innings pitched.
