Pensacola, Fla.- University of Charleston Women's Volleyball falls to the University of West Florida in straight sets in game one, but bounced back to defeat Spring Hill College in a close five-set battle to close out day one of the Walk-On's UWF Invitational.

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles fell to the Argonauts in straight sets in game one, but came back to defeat the Badgers in a five-set nail biter in game two. 

Charleston jumped out and claimed an early 2-0 lead in game two, defeating Spring Hill 25-23 in set one and 27-25 in set two. In set one, Spring Hill led it off 6-2, but UC came from behind and knotted it up at 10 on Badger errors and kills from Pia Selke, Emma Shepherd and Patrycja Majos. The teams traded sideouts until the Golden Eagles pulled ahead by two points to capture the first set 25-23. 

In the second frame, UC claimed the first three points, but SHC played catch-up and evened the score at five on kills of their own and errors by the Golden Eagles. The set went back-and-forth until Shepherd went on a five-point service run to give Charleston a dominating 15-8 lead over Spring Hill. Eventually, the Badgers came back to tie the game at 22, but Charleston came out on top 27-25 to take set two.

Despite the early 2-0 lead over Spring Hill College, Charleston dropped sets three and four, which forced a fifth set. The final set of the game was a close battle, as the Golden Eagles defeated the Badgers by only two points.
