How it Happened
Charleston played lights out in the first half, allowing zero shots from the Hilltoppers, making it an easy day at the office for goalkeeper Jordan Maynard. On the other end, the Golden Eagles put up 13 shots with nine of them on frame.

The first goal would come in the 22nd minute from Juliette Lucas as a Hannah Goes cross came between the Hilltopper keeper and Sophia Mankowski. After the ball rattled around in front of the goal, Lucas knocked in the close-range shot for the early 1-0 advantage. Charleston would score 13 minutes later as Frankie Morrow quickly dodged defenders on the far side and rocketed a low shot off of the keeper and into the net for the 2-0 lead.

Cassidy Collins would extend the lead five minutes later with a shot from over 30 yards that sunk just below the crossbar to send Charleston into the locker room with the 3-0 lead.

The Golden Eagles would find one more goal in the match as Morrow would find her second of the day. Rounding the penalty box, she sent a curling missile into the back corner of the net to give Charleston a four-goal advantage. The Hilltoppers would find two shots in the half, but were unable to capitalize as Jordan Maynard saved both attempts on frame to end her day with a clean sheet.

Up Next
Charleston will face a tough test on the road as they take the trip to Maryland to take on the Frostburg State Bobcats. Kickoff is set for Saturday September 30th at 5:00 PM.
