Charleston W. Va. – Charleston advances to the Mountain East Conference Title match for the second consecutive season after defeating the Fighting Falcons 4-1 in the semifinals.

How it Happened:
Fairmont State got on the board first in the Conference Semifinal match between the Golden Eagles and the Fighting Falcons. The Fairmont goal came in the 16
th minute off the foot of Serenity Thomas.
The Golden Eagles responded with a goal by the squads top scorer, Juliette Lucas, in the 37
th minute. The build up started when Lina Jaime slipped a pass through defenders to find Lucas in a one-on-one situation with the Falcons keeper. Lucas, neededing to beat the keeper to the ball, slide in and with a left foot sent the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net to tie the match at 1-1.
The second half was all Charleston, the Golden Eagles tacking on three more goals to eventually take the victory. The first goal came in the 56
th minute when a beautiful cross from Frankie Morrow found Juliette Lucas in the box who settled the ball and finished for the second Golden Eagle goal.
The third goal was scored in the 69
th minute from Ciara Casamento, her first of the season. Casamento was greeted in the box with a pass from Cassidy Collins on the right wing. Casamento able to fool the keeper and give the Golden Eagles their third goal, taking a 3-1 lead.
The final blow from Charleston came in the 81
st minute off the right foot of Frankie Morrow. Morrow fooled a defender and sent a sweeping shot into the top right corner, giving the keeper no chance and her Golden Eagles a 4-1 advantage.
Charleston would take the final score 4-1 and advance to the Mountain East Conference Final with the victory.
