Cambridge, Mass. – The Golden Eagles lost two close games to Harvard on the road to fall 0-2 in EIVA play.
Game 1:
The Basics:

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles and the Crimson of Harvard University got things going on Friday evening with a back and forth first set that eventually went in favor of Harvard 25-21.
In set two, Charleston took control, jumping out to a 15-9 lead, and then 18-10. Charleston went on to comfortably take a 25-16 set victory behind 12 kills and a .588 hitting percentage. Jesse Delancy and Garret Schnitker each had four kills in the set.
The Crimson took control in set three, Charleston trailing early 8-3. The Crimson continued to rally, keeping their advantage 17-9, benefiting from Charleston errors. The Golden Eagles went on a late five-point run to bring the set to 24-19, but the Crimson closed out the set on the next point, taking the match lead 2-1.
Set four was close with both teams trading points, but the Crimson were victorious in set four, winning 25-20. The fourth set loss would result in Charleston's first EIVA loss of the season.
Game 2:

Records: UC 7-5 (0-2 EIVA), Harvard 5-4 (2-0 EIVA)
How it Happened:
In set one of Saturday's contest, the Golden Eagles struggled to find their rhythm, allowing Harvard to take a first set lead 16-10. Charleston and Harvard went on to traded points for the remainder of the set, Charleston eventually falling 25-17.
The script was flipped in set two, Charleston dominating and taking a set lead 18-10 over the Crimson. The Golden Eagles rallied behind a .391 hitting percentage to take the second set by a score of 25-17.
With the match tied at 1-1, the next two sets were very close, Harvard taking set three 25-23 and then Charleston responding with a fourth set victory 25-23.
With the match tied, the Crimson and Golden Eagles were headed to a winner take all fifth set. Harvard had a 7-4 victory, but Charleston rallied back after the bench swap to even the score at 9-9. Both teams continued to traded points, but Harvard had the slight edge over Charleston, taking the set 15-13.
Garret Schnitker finished the match with 17 kills and Max Nissen finished with a career high 16 kills. Isak Joelsson finished the match with a season high 37 assists.
