How it Happened
The Golden Eagles would start the night off with a solid shooting performance, hitting 4-10 shots from the field and 33% from beyond the arc. Within the opening six minutes, Charleston would build up a six-point advantage after a successful trip to the charity stripe from Nia Vanzant, but the Bobcats would not let the visitors extend their lead further as Emma Witt of West Virginia Wesleyan sank three easy short-range shots to get her squad within three. In the second period, Charleston's ability to shoot the ball had taken a turn as they would only hit four shots for the duration of the quarter. Sydney Baird would put up seven points for the Bobcats in the quarter highlighted by a three-pointer with 36 seconds left to play. The Bobcats would take advantage of the low scoring third quarter and outscore Charleston 12-9, leveling the game up at 23-23 heading into the locker room.

West Virginia Wesleyan would open up the second half with a 6-0 run that took nearly four minutes off the clock, giving them a little momentum with a 29-23 lead. Austin would end the drought with her first three-pointer of the quarter to get Charleston back to within three of the Bobcats. Her second at the 1:53 mark would knot the game square at 33-33. After Paris Stokes knocked home two free-throws near the end of the quarter, Haley Moore would give Charleston a 39-35 lead going into the final quarter of play with a layup from underneath. Both sides would play tremendous basketball in the fourth quarter, but it would be Charleston's free throw shots that proved to be the difference in the contest. The Golden Eagles would hit 88% of their free throws in the contest and converted on 8-9 in the fourth period. Charleston would leave Buckhannon with their third consecutive win in a row, defeating the Bobcats 61-50 in the Rockefeller Center.
