Charleston, W. Va – On Senior Night, the Golden Eagles would face the Davis & Elkins Senators for their last home game of the season. Charleston looked to continue their hot streak and make it four consecutive wins in a row.

How it Happened
It would be a defensive battle between the Senators and the Golden Eagles in the first period. Charleston would limit D&E to just nine points in the quarter, but they would only manage to put up 13 of their own on the other end. Nia Vanzant led the charge in the opening quarter with five points on three free throws and a layup at the 5:18 mark. Charleston would shoot 29% from the floor and empty from beyond the arc. In a high-scoring second quarter, there would be eight total lead changes between the two squads, but the Golden Eagles would ultimately win the scoring margin 24-22. Clarrissa Francis would contribute eight points in the quarter and would help Charleston take a 37-31 advantage into the locker room.
The Golden Eagles would begin to take the game over in the second half, limiting the Senators to 12 points in the quarter and scoring 20 on the other end with a 44% conversion rate from the floor. The lone triple they found in the quarter would come from Paris Stokes at the 6:45 mark to extend their lead to 44-35. Charleston rounded out the third quarter with Kiley Graham's fastbreak layup with time winding down to take the 57-43 lead into the final quarter of play.
The Golden Eagles would improve their long-distance shooting in the fourth quarter, hitting 43% of their attempts from deep range. The Senators also would have a solid outing in the fourth quarter on offense as they shot 7-5 inside the arc and went 75% from the charity stripe. Despite the fact that Davis & Elkins outscored Charleston in the quarter, the Golden Eagles had built up too much of a lead to overcome. They would take the win on senior night 75-62.
