Charleston, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles come from behind to complete the reverse sweep of the Georgetown College of Kentucky 3-2.

How it Happened:
In set one on Saturday, the Tigers and the Golden Eagles battled back and forth, trading side outs until the last point of the set. Charleston struggled, only hitting .05% while Georgetown College tallied a .333%, propelling them to a 25-22 victory in set one.
Set two was all Georgetown College as the Golden Eagles only tallied fife kills with six errors on 19 attempts, putting them in the negatives (-.053) for hitting percentage. Georgetown College sailed to a comfortable 25-14 victory, now leading the match two sets to none.
Despite trailing by two sets, the Golden Eagles were not going to go away quietly, battling point for point with the Tigers in set three. Both teams collected 13 kills in the set, but Georgetown committed two more errors than Charleston, allowing the Golden Eagles to take set three 25-23.
Set four was also very close, but the Golden Eagles went on a five-point run to take the 18-13 late in the set. The next several points were traded until Georgetown went on a run of their own to bring the set to 20-19, UC still leading. Points were traded for the remainder of the set, Charleston taking the victory 25-22 highlighted by three kills by Max Nissen.
With a winner take all set five forced by Charleston, the first few points in the set were crucial. The Golden Eagles jumped out in front 2-0 and then eventually 7-4. The four-point lead would stand as the teams traded points for the remainder of the set, Charleston taking set five 15-11.
Charleston used 13 different players in the five-set victory. Garret Schnitker collected 18 kills and Paul Stommel tallied 39 assists.

The Golden Eagles will head to NJIT for a two game EIVA series. Game one is set for a 6:00PM start on Friday and game two will be played at 2:00PM on Saturday.
