Kutztown, Pa. – The Golden Eagles fell in their season opener to the Gannon Golden Knights in a neutral site mach. Charleston opened the game with an early goal but could not hold their lead as they eventually fell 3-1.

How it Happened:
Charleston got their season started quickly with a scorcher of a goal from
Juliette Lucas from about 25 yards out in the second minute of the contest.
In the twenty-fourth minute the Golden Knights evened the score with a goal of their own. Nine minutes later Gannon took the lead when they scored off a free kick just outside the box.
Just minutes before the end of the half, Gannon tacked on a third goal, coming from Brooklyn Respecki, her second of the half. The Golden Knights headed into half time with the 3-1 lead over the Golden Eagles.
In the second half Charleston had just one shot compared to Gannon's nine, although neither team could find the back of the net. The Golden Eagles tallied two shots in the contest and along with three yellow card cautions.
