SALEM, W.Va. — The University of Charleston women's basketball team delivered an all-around performance to claim a decisive 70-48 victory over the Salem University Tigers on Saturday afternoon at the Joe Retton Arena.

How it Happened:
The Golden Eagles (7-7, 3-4 MEC) took control early, outscoring the Tigers 24-11 in the first quarter. Charleston's offense clicked with 64.3% shooting from the field, including four three-pointers, to set the tone for the rest of the game.
Charleston extended its lead in a physical second quarter despite cooling off offensively, shooting just 22.2%. The Golden Eagles maintained their advantage with solid free-throw shooting and defensive efforts, heading into halftime with a 36-25 lead.
In the third quarter, the Golden Eagles rediscovered their offensive rhythm, outscoring the Tigers 20-15. Paris Stokes and Kiley Graham led the charge, with Stokes contributing 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting and Graham adding 14 points and four rebounds.
The final quarter saw Charleston's defense shine, holding Salem to just eight points. Sydney Bolles and Jamia Nesmith also made key contributions throughout the game, finishing with nine and 11 points. Ksenija Mitric anchored the boards with 13 rebounds, ensuring the Golden Eagles controlled the paint.
Charleston finished the game shooting 43.8% from the field while limiting Salem to 28.3%. The Golden Eagles' bench also added 19 points, showcasing their depth.
