How It Happened
The action started early and fast. Just three minutes in, Sydney Crowe opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the season, sprinting down the left flank and finishing confidently. Concord responded quickly. Tiana Campbell, the MEC's leading scorer, netted her 10th of the year to level it up. Just two minutes later, the Mountain Lions struck again to take the lead. But Charleston answered right back. Crowe returned to the spotlight, dribbling past a defender and launching a powerful left-footed strike into the top corner for her second of the night.
The Golden Eagles had a golden opportunity to reclaim the lead in the 22nd minute when they earned a penalty kick, but Jamie Bland's effort was denied by the Concord goalkeeper. After a frenetic start, the pace finally slowed, and the teams went into halftime tied at 2-2.
The second half opened in similar fashion. Just five minutes in, Demari Curry lifted a clever chip over the keeper to give UC a 3-2 advantage. The lead held until the 70th minute, when Concord stunned the crowd with an incredible 55-yard goal to equalize once again. Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but neither could break the deadlock.
The match ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw, keeping Concord just ahead of Charleston in the Mountain East Conference standings.
