Charleston, W.Va. – The University of Charleston volleyball team put together one of its most complete performances of the season, earning a straight-set victory over Glenville State on Tuesday night inside the Wehrle Innovation Center. It was a much-needed win and a big step-up performance as the Golden Eagles shut out the Pioneers in three sets, marking their 20th win of the season.

How it Happened:
Charleston came out firing in the opening set, jumping ahead 6-1 to take early control. Glenville State responded with a short run to close within two points at 11-9, but the Golden Eagles quickly settled back in and found their rhythm. Behind strong serving and efficient attacking, UC went on a mid-set run to pull away and took the first set 25-19.
Set two followed a similar pattern, with Charleston once again storming out to a 4-0 lead and never trailing. The Pioneers fought to stay within reach, but UC's patience and team chemistry proved too much. Kills from Divine Muo and Kate Strong helped the Golden Eagles maintain momentum and close out the second set 25-19.
In the third, Glenville State pushed hard to extend the match, taking an early lead before Charleston regrouped. The Golden Eagles tied the score at 8-8, gained the lead, and after a back-and-forth stretch that saw the set even at 15-15, UC surged ahead 22-16. The Pioneers mounted a late rally to close within one at 22-21, but a service ace from Patrycja Majos, who led the team in kills sealed the win as Charleston took the final set 25-22 and completed the 3-0 sweep.
Offense:
Patrycja Majos led the attack with 12 kills and 2 aces. Divine Muo followed with 10 kills, while Kate Strong and Giuliana Batista added 8 and 9 kills each. Setter Abby Avila ran the offense with 38 assists.
Defense:
Chloe Fortner led the team with 14 digs, while Majos and Muo combined for several key blocks that shifted momentum throughout the match.
