Charleston, W.Va. - We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Robert Lee "Bob" Brown on November 1, 2025.
Bob Brown, was a proud and accomplished alumnus of what was then Morris Harvey College, now the University of Charleston, where he was remembered for his dedication, kindness, and contributions to the campus community. In 1952, he received a football scholarship where he excelled as Team Captain, Team MVP, and earned All-American and All-Conference honors. Bob was a key member of the 1954 WVIAC Championship Team and competed in the 1954 Elks Bowl, Shrine Bowl, and the 1955 Cigar Bowl. A gifted multi-sport athlete, he also played on the college's basketball and baseball teams. After graduating in 1956, Bob's outstanding athletic career was recognized with his induction into the University of Charleston Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. His legacy continues to inspire the UC community, and he remains a cherished figure in the university's athletic history.
