How It Happened
Coming off a tough midweek loss to a strong Thomas More squad, UC aimed to return to form. Livia O'Dea opened the scoring with a layup, setting the tone for a tightly contested first quarter. The Golden Eagles pushed ahead late, taking a five-point lead after a Paris Stokes and-one in the final minute. However, a late 6–0 Edinboro run flipped the score, sending UC into the break trailing by one. Edinboro seized the momentum early in the second quarter, stretching its lead to 13 with eight minutes remaining. O'Dea continued to battle, recording a block and rebound on the defensive end before knocking down a jumper to trim the deficit to single digits. Noelle Polanco added an and-one just before halftime, helping Charleston head to the locker room down 7.
The third quarter was a grind offensively for both teams. UC went scoreless for more than five minutes before Harper Annarino finally connected on a jumper. Edinboro edged the quarter 9–6, extending its lead to 10 entering the final period. Charleston showed fight in the fourth. Stokes sparked the offense with five straight points, bringing the Golden Eagles within six with 5:52 remaining. But Edinboro responded with a decisive 10–0 run to put the game out of reach, ultimately sealing a 61–49 win.
Turnovers proved costly once again for UC, as 24 giveaways led to 23 Edinboro points.
