GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The University of Charleston softball team (4-0) delivered a commanding performance at the Glenville Tournament, sweeping all four games while mercy-ruling three opponents. The Golden Eagles showcased an explosive offense and dominant pitching to extend their undefeated start to the season.

How it Happened:
Charleston opened the tournament with a 9-1 victory over Bowie State (Feb. 23), ending the game in five innings.
Kayla Moran powered the offense with a two-run double, while
Raegan West drove in three runs.
Chloe Elliott earned the win, striking out seven and allowing just three hits.
Later that day, the Golden Eagles overwhelmed California (Pa.), 11-1, in another five-inning rout.
Kaleigh Serra sparked the offense with a three-run triple, while
Allison Rubal and
Lindsey Phares each collected multiple RBIs.
Addison Mass shut down the Vulcans with seven strikeouts in a complete-game effort.
On Feb. 24, Charleston faced its toughest challenge against Gannon, securing a 7-6 walk-off win. Phares belted a three-run homer, and Bianca Polistina delivered the game-winning RBI double in the seventh. Mass picked up her second win of the weekend in relief.
The Golden Eagles closed the tournament in style on Feb. 25, mercy-ruling Bluefield State 10-1 in five innings.
Kayla Moran launched a home run,
Taylor Hodson and Phares each doubled, and
Laila Varney dominated in the circle with seven strikeouts, allowing just three hits.
