The teams traded possessions early, with Davis & Elkins responding with a layup and a free throw, briefly narrowing the gap. As the first half progressed, Charleston regained momentum. Lipkins scored again, and Trevor Barrett added another three-pointer to push the score to 12-5. The teams continued to exchange baskets, with Davis & Elkins' Oladeru and Strozier contributing, while Charleston's Zach Loveday and Lipkins answered with strong performances, including an impactful fastbreak layup by Loveday.

The game's intensity picked up in the final minutes of the first half, with both teams struggling to maintain possession. There were multiple turnovers and steals, but Charleston's defensive rebounds and free throws from Ayinde Taylor helped secure a lead. Going into the break, Charleston held a 35-29 advantage.

The second half started with both teams making adjustments, and Davis & Elkins quickly narrowed the gap to 31-35 with a strong layup. Despite a few turnovers from Charleston's Zach Loveday, the momentum shifted when Dontrell Jenkins hit a big 3-pointer to put Davis & Elkins ahead briefly, 34-35. Charleston responded with an array of quick offensive plays, including a fast-break layup from Trevor Barrett and a solid three-pointer from Matthew Shelton.

With both teams exchanging leads, the game got tense. Davis & Elkins' Silva, Hampton, and Oladeru fought to keep their hopes alive with several rebounds and fast-break points, but Charleston continued to answer back with clinical shots. Key moments included a pair of 3-pointers from Barrett, which gave Charleston a 67-62 advantage late in the game.

In the final minute, Charleston's defense and free throws sealed the deal. A steal and fast-break layup by Shelton, followed by additional free throws from Barrett and Jones, pushed the score to 75-62, creating an insurmountable lead for Charleston.
